My Big Fat Mittens

 To go with my Big Fat Hat and Scarf:

Yarn:   Rowan Big Wool, in Black.

Pattern:  Wool-Ease Mittens by Stephanie Taylor.

Needles:  US #10 dpns

Comments:  Again, it's Big Wool.  Plump, warm, soft, and wonderful Rowan yarn.  This was fun to knit. Somehow, knitting black in this gauge isn't nearly as blinding as knitting black sock yarn!

And a visit to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum made me realize that mittens will soon be in order:

A few of the trees were showing their colors this week.  The next two weeks are expected to be glorious!

The hedges.  We need rain, folks!

My Big Fat Hat and Scarf

Yarn:  Rowan Big Wool

Needles:  13 or 15--not sure.

Comments:  I added the tassle, as the hat seemed so black and so plain.

 Love the Big Wool.  You can knit a hat in a day, a scarf in two.

 The scarf is black and plain, too.

Here's the "recipe" for my scarf:

Size 13 needles

2 skeins Rowan Big Wool

Gauge: 2.5/inch

Cast on 16 stitches.

Slipping the first stitch of each row as if to purl, Knit 3 rows.

Row 4: Sl 1 as if to purl, K2, K10, K3.

Row 5: Sl 1 as if to purl, K2, P10, K3.

Repeat rows 4 and 5 until the desired length or you are almost out of yarn, leaving enough for the last 3 rows and the bind off.

Knit 3 rows.

Bind off.  Wear.  Stay warm.

A Trio of Socks

Every once in awhile I get bogged down with other "stuff" and don't post my projects, and I must admit I am way behind in this.

 Here are three pair of socks that I finished in the last couple months, and I will share the details about yarn,

 needles, patterns, etc. on Ravelry, as I may be too lazy to repeat the same here.
