The trip to Sioux Falls to see my dear sister yielded more sock yarn. And I couldn't wait to see how it striped. It's Regia Silk Color and it has a nice feel to it when I knit.
Also took a side trip to Hobby Lobby. I used to chuckle when my sister talked about it; such a goofy name. But it's rather amazing.

Now I know this borders on mundane, but this is a magnificent first for me. I replaced my broken old black plastic sprayer head with a shiny new chrome head. So far, it's still working. I'll let you know if it stops working. Then I will call in a plumber. (Think of the money I saved!)

Knitting is so slow that we see the beauty inherent in the act of knitting. The sweater may not get finished for many months—thus, we make our peace with the unresolved nature of life. We slow down as we knit. Our breathing and heart rate drop, and knitters who have been at it a while experience a trancelike state that provides the same benefits as other forms of meditation.

Hand knitted socks just feel so good on your feet. A knitter who worked in a yarn shop told me that socks should be "dense." So that they will wear well?
Also, buying a couple skeins of yarn for a pair of socks usually won't blitz your checking account. Sock yarn doesn't count as part of your stash. Yeah!
